Abstract

INTRODUCTION: In recent years, the numbers of tularemia cases have risen. The rarest but most lethal form is pulmonary. Diagnosis is particularly difficult in immunosuppressed patients because clinical symptoms and radiological findings are nonspecific. Clinically and radiologically, the disease can mimic other causes of atypical pneumonia or pulmonary infiltrates, especially bacterial or viral pneumonia. Due to these nonspecific features, diagnosis is often delayed. More accurate diagnostics and properly administered therapy prevents complications and lowers lethal courses.
