Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the contribution of musical awareness to the work environment and quality of work life (QWL) of elementary school teachers. A quantitative and exploratory approach was adopted, using a retrospective cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 47 teachers from the public school system in the municipality of Poços de Caldas, southern Minas Gerais. The study group was composed of teachers who participated in a training course in musical awareness, allowing for the analysis of the impacts of this training on their professional routine. The data revealed that the trained teachers presented higher levels of quality of work life than those who did not undergo the training. Musical awareness favors stress reduction and improves the organizational climate. Additionally, the study found that it is fully feasible for single-subject teachers to apply music education techniques in the classroom, organically integrating art into the regular curriculum. It is concluded that music is an effective strategic resource for teacher appreciation, offering benefits that transcend student learning and directly impact the mental health and professional satisfaction of educators.
