VALIDATION OF THE RÉGIS SCALE TO DETERMINE THE IDEAL FREQUENCY OF HOME-BASED PHYSIOTHERAPY IN OLDER ADULTS WITH NEUROLOGICAL SEQUELAE
Abstract
The ideal frequency of home-based physiotherapy sessions for older adults with neurological sequelae remains a significant clinical challenge. The absence of validated tools to guide this decision often results in subjective judgments and inefficient resource allocation. This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the Régis Scale, developed to assist physiotherapists in determining individualized therapy frequency. A cross-sectional study with 800 older adults assessed content validity using a Delphi panel, construct validity through correlations with functional and cognitive measures, internal consistency, test–retest reliability, and responsiveness. The scale demonstrated excellent content validity (S-CVI = 0.92), good internal consistency (α = 0.88), high reproducibility (ICC = 0.91), and strong construct validity, with significant correlations with Barthel, FIM, MoCA, and TUG (p < 0.001). Findings indicate that the Régis Scale is a valid, reliable, and responsive tool for determining the ideal frequency of home-based rehabilitation.
