Abstract

This is a descriptive case study that explains how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria are implemented in industrial corporations. It concentrates on the analysis of environmental management as a value. Corporate value can be increased through the implementation of the circular economy, reverse logistics, and energy efficiency. The Triple Bottom Line and ISO management systems are among the frameworks used in this study. Environmental governance makes compliance with regulations add value to the organization. In the case studied, efficiency and costs have been increased, and the organization's image has been improved. However, there are some limitations to the increase in the organization's value, due to product homogeneity and certification requirements. The case study is useful for analyzing the implementation of ESG in industrial corporations in the Mercosur region and is particularly useful for scholars and managers interested in improving the organization's sustainability by using environmental management to create long-term value.
