Implementaatiokehykset nuorten mielenterveydentuen menetelmien käyttöönotossa kouluissa
Abstract
The availability of evidence-based methods for supporting adolescents’ mental health has improved in Finland. However, the effective implementation of these methods has not yet become embedded in everyday practice. Methods do not automatically become embedded in everyday practice without systematic implementation. The purpose of this review was to provide knowledge. on how implementation frameworks have been utilized in implementation studies to evaluate the implementation of school-based interventions that support adolescents’ mental health. The objective was to identify and describe the types of implementation frameworks used in implementation studies and to examine how they have been applied in practical implementation. The scoping review’s literature search was conducted in September 2024 across the following databases: CINAHL, Cochrane Library, ERIC (Ebsco), Psychology Database (ProQuest), PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Medic, as well as through manual searching. Results related to the first three research questions were analyzed by categorizing the data according to predefined criteria outlined in the review protocol registered in the OSF database. The data related to the fourth research question were analyzed using inductive content analysis. The database search identified 1401 references, of which 1082 were screened after duplicate removal. Ultimately, nine studies met the inclusion criteria. Six different implementation frameworks were used in the included implementation studies, classified into the following categories: determinant frameworks, evaluation frameworks, process models, and strategy frameworks. Seven studies used the original frameworks, while two applied adapted versions. The frameworks focused on adolescents’ mental health support interventions in school settings. The usability of the frameworks was described in seven studies. According to the review, the use of implementation frameworks in school settings remains limited. Systematic implementation utilizing various frameworks or models may enhance the likelihood of successful implementation. Frameworks provide a useful structure for planning, evaluating, and engaging stakeholders in implementation.
