Abstract

The article examines the role of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and innovative multimedia technologies in the professional training of police officers under martial law. The Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine has significantly transformed the conditions under which law enforcement agencies operate, necessitating an update to the content of tactical, special, and firearms training, as well as expanding the functional duties of police officers – from participating in ensuring law and order to evacuating the population, demining de-occupied territories, and documenting war crimes. It has been proven that the introduction of interactive simulations, “return fire” simulation systems, multimedia simulators, and VR/AR technologies contributes to the formation of professional competence and the development of cognitive and behavioral skills necessary for action in crisis and extreme situations. Particular attention is paid to the integration of UAVs into the training process as a means of tactical training, remote monitoring of the situation, and coordination of unit actions. The combination of drones and multimedia simulations creates a synergistic effect, ensuring realistic training, safe training, and increased situational awareness of police officers. Special attention is paid to the impact of comprehensive digitization of the educational process on improving the quality of management decisions in the activities of police units. The integration of digital simulators, automated systems for analyzing training results, and the use of algorithms for processing data obtained from UAVs and multimedia platforms allows for the creation of a unified information environment for training. This contributes to the personalization of training, the optimization of training scenarios, and the timely adjustment of the professional competencies of police officers, which, in conditions of martial law, is crucial for ensuring the effectiveness of operational and service activities. The international experience and regulatory aspects of introducing innovative technologies into the training system of the National Police of Ukraine are considered. It is concluded that comprehensive modernization of educational programs using UAVs, VR/ AR technologies, and interactive simulations is a key condition for training operationally ready, psychologically stable, and highly professional police officers capable of acting effectively in the context of modern security challenges and wartime.
