The Ambivalent Nature of Information Security
Abstract
The article analyzes the contradictions of the modern information security system in the context of rapid digitalization of society. The relevance of the study is due to the growth of cyber threats, an increase in the number of crimes involving the use of information technology and, at the same time, increasing government regulation of the digital space. At the same time, measures aimed at protecting the digital space can simultaneously reduce the level of public trust and cause forms of “digital resistance”. Special attention is paid to the problem of the regulatory backlog and the lack of communication between the state and society. The results of the study indicate the need to move to a more flexible information security model based on a balance between the interests of the state and individual rights.
