Participación de las mujeres en el ámbito local: dinámicas y perfiles en Andalucía (España)
Abstract
Although women have been pioneers in participation, promoting strategies of collaboration and sisterhood, especially in the areas of caregiving and family sustainability, one of the most interesting aspects today has been the incorporation of women into social participation. Their incorporation, particularly those involving unconventional approaches, has been recognized as a phenomenon of 'normalization'. The aim of this article is to analyze the forms of social participation of women in Andalusia, considering two aspects: the level of integration and the environment in which it occurs, differentiating between urban and rural spaces. Data from the 2022 Social Survey: Social Relations, Habits and Attitudes of the Andalusian Population, conducted by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia, were used to analyze in depth the spaces in which Andalusian women participate—volunteering, associations, and protest—and to investigate the characteristics of each profile. The results show that there are differences in participation depending on the attachment to the territory and the habitat in which each activity takes place, in addition to showing different typologies according to the forms of participation.
