Abstract

Moosas is a program for Building Performance Analysis (BPA) and optimization for the building sketch design stage targeted on architects. Most of the detail settings and geometrical representations transforming, which are always confusing to architects, will be solved behind the interface. All BPA applications are implemented or transformed from a inner Building Information Model (BIM) Moosas Model which is built by the TRANSFORMATION module from B-rep models (*.obj/*.geo). The Moosas Model is stored in Knowledge-graph (KG) formatted in Ontology Web Language (OWL), built on a comprehensive ontology with IFCOWL, BOT, GEO, WGS, PGD, and BRICK. Currently, Moosas 0.8.2 connects to BPA engine including CONTAM for Airflow Network (AFN) analysis, OPENFOAM for Climate Fluid Dynamic (CFD) calculation for single room), RADIANCE for gross and singe room daylighting analysis, and ENERGYPLUS for energy analysis. Besides, a self-develop grey-box energy analysis model MoosasEnergy is embedded which provide quick single-zone energy assessment within 0.1s/room. The core of MOOSAS is built on python, the interface is built on javascript & html, and the extensions are built on golong including *.epw transformation, .skp/.obj transformation, wind pressure prediction, etc. Besides, a SketchUp Plugin version was embedded by src/ coded in ruby as an interface of MOOSAS. Users can eider work with python package MoosasPy with all stable functions above, or deploy the MoosasPy into a sketchUp plugin following the instruction.
