Abstract

Work readiness is an important issue for final-year university students as they transition from academic life to the world of work. This study aimed to examine the role of growth mindset and social support in shaping students’ work readiness. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, with data collected through an online questionnaire administered to final-year students. The questionnaire measured growth mindset, perceived social support, and work readiness. Data were analyzed using moderated regression analysis, complemented by subgroup analyses based on work intensity and the relevance of internship experience to career interests. The findings indicate that growth mindset and social support have a direct influence on work readiness. However, social support does not moderate the relationship between growth mindset and work readiness. In addition, the influence of growth mindset on work readiness was more evident among students with lower work demands and internship experiences aligned with their career interests. These results suggest that work readiness is influenced by the interaction between individual psychological factors and experiential contexts.
