Abstract

This study explored the resilience of supply chains through a qualitative analysis of Romanian companies in various industries, focussing on risk management, collaboration, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration. This study, which aimed to explore the resilience of supply chains, was based on qualitative data collected through semistructured interviews from representatives of companies from various industries in Romania and had as its main focus risk management, collaboration, and ESG integration. The findings highlighted that supply chain risks are diverse, encompassing economic, political, cybersecurity, environmental, social, and operational threats.Collaboration was identified as a key enabler of supply chain resilience, with businesses focussing on visibility, real-time data sharing, and strategic partnerships to ensure operational efficiency and adaptability. The integration of ESG principles was also emphasised as a vital component of resilient supply chains.Companies are increasingly implementing sustainability measures, reducing carbon footprints, optimising logistics, and ensuring that suppliers comply with environmental and social standards. The study underscored the interconnection of risk awareness, collaboration, and ESG factors in building robust supply chains. These findings allowed for valuable insights into how Romanian companies navigate contemporary challenges, contributing to the broader discourse on supply chain resilience in a dynamic global environment.
