Abstract

Introduction . This article explores the impact of regionalization processes on the activities of transnational corporations (TNCs). It analyzes the key challenges faced by TNCs in the context of regionalization and the increasing number of trade restrictions in the global economy. Particular emphasis is placed on the factors driving the transformation of TNC strategies, including geopolitical, domestic political, economic and other aspects. Based on current trends, the article evaluates the directions of strategy adaptation aimed at minimizing costs and maintaining global competitiveness under new economic conditions. Materials and methods . A combination of general scientific and formal-logical methods was used in this study (including methods of cognition, description, analysis, introduction, deduction, comparison, analogy, systematization, and modeling), as well as comparative analysis, a systems approach, and the case study method. Research results . The analysis revealed that contemporary regionalization processes significantly influence the strategic behavior of TNCs, transforming the nature of their participation in the global economy. The growing influence of geopolitical factors directly affects corporate operations, forcing TNC to consider political relations between their home and host countries. At the same time, the digitalization of the global economy and rising incomes in developing countries are creating new opportunities for TNC development. Against this backdrop, it is likely that TNCs will be compelled to adapt their strategies: enhancing the analysis of geopolitical and reputational risks, reconsidering the balance between global and local presence, and actively engaging with national and international institutions. Discussion and conclusion . In the context of intensifying regionalization, the successful operation of TNCs requires a systematic adaptation of their strategies to evolving conditions. This study has identified the key factors influencing TNC operations and the potential trends in the adaptation of their strategies. The findings underscore the need for further in-depth research on emerging TNC adaptation strategies, including the development of practical recommendations for risk management and the optimization of business models under regionalization.
