Abstract

This study analyzes the welfare of honorary teachers from an Islamic economic perspective with a focus on fair salary standards based on maqasid syari'ah, including hifz al-nafs (soul), hifz al-mal (wealth), hifz al-aql (intellect), and hifz al-din (religion), using a descriptive qualitative approach through documentary data from books, journals, and online news analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that low salaries below the minimum wage, dependence on late BOS funds, and unstable status cause mental stress, family conflicts, difficulties in finding decent housing (483,816 teachers affected), obstacles to professional development, and a decline in religious commitment, contrary to the hadith of the Prophet SAW: “Give wages to workers before their sweat dries” (HR. Ibnu Majah). In conclusion, the state has a moral responsibility to increase salaries through wage reform, professional zakat, productive waqf, and allowances such as PIP (Rp14.4 trillion), in order to achieve holistic falah, social justice, and educational sustainability. Kata Kunci: Fair Wages, Honorary Teachers, Holistic Welfare, Islamic Economics, Maqasid Syari`ah.
