Abstract

The article raises the need to renew and broaden the sense of criticism in the field of social work. It argues that it is imperative to broaden, their meanings to incorporate other forms of interpretation aiming to elevate the poetic dimension of human dwelling in the world. From this perspective, a critique is proposed that becomes poetic, able to understand the experience of subjects beyond the limits imposed by method and concept. In this sense, the role of social work is questioned in relation to the complexities of contemporary society. The study is based on a documentary method through a review of specialized literature, which allows articulating theoretical reflections and current debates within the discipline. It is concluded that extending critique requires an interdisciplinary approach and epistemological openness, while poetic criticism offers new possibilities for interpreting human experience and guiding more reflective and situated professional practices.
