Features of the police activity in preventing and combating offenses in the sphere of family and domestic relations in Russia at the present stage

The subject of the research is the peculiarities of organizing police activities aimed at preventing and suppressing offenses in the sphere of family and domestic relations in Russia at the present stage. The object of the research consists of the directions for combating family and domestic offenses. This type of activity is considered one of the most important tasks for the police as a whole and a priority area for preventive activities. After all, the family in our country is the foundation of the moral values of society, and timely suppression of illegal acts in this sphere shapes its legal consciousness as a whole. The purpose of the research is to analyze and reveal the legal and organizational aspects of police activities aimed at preventing and suppressing offenses in the sphere of family and domestic relations. Based on the analysis, an algorithm of actions for internal affairs officers in preventing offenses in the field of family and domestic relations has been formulated. The methods used in writing the article include: theoretical methods – comparative legal, systemic-structural, logical and statistical analysis, generalization, synthesis, and classification; empirical methods – description and measurement. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that a significant part of the research is dedicated to analyzing literature on this issue, studying examples of practical law enforcement activities in various regions of the country, or in similar conditions of police operational-service activities. Based on the analysis, an algorithm of actions for police officers in preventing offenses in the sphere of family and domestic relations has been formulated. The results of the research can be used as a reference source for practical police officers engaged in activities related to preventing crimes and administrative offenses in the sphere of family and domestic relations of citizens of the Russian Federation. The results of the research may be significant for enhancing the effectiveness of the practical activities of officers engaged in preventing illegal acts in the sphere of family and domestic relations, as well as in the educational process when implementing programs for professional training and additional professional education for police officers.
