Abstract

This study proposes an adaptive high-function planar antenna with high structural strength and structural adaptability based on a rigid and ultra-lightweight planar antenna with an adaptive structure using Shape Memory Polymer and CF-CNT-SMP on its ground surface to provide further shape recovery and a significant increase in tensile strength. The aim is to eliminate the separation of antenna and support structure. For air bubbles, which have been a problem in CF-CNT-SMP composites, we have achieved low bending rigidity and complete elimination of air bubbles by providing circular holes in the CNT layer. Experiments confirmed that this innovation improved the shape recovery and shape fixation rate in a well-balanced manner. We also proposed a manufacturing method in which a thick SMP plate is made and then integrated with CF-CNT-SMP, and applied conductive CF-CNT-SMP to the GND layer of the SMP antenna to investigate its shape recovery performance.
