Abstract

With the increased popularity and use of personal air vehicles and eVTOL configurations, there has been a growing need for rapid propeller and rotor sizing and modeling tools that can determine the blade planform parameters such as the chord and twist distribution, and use custom designed advanced laminar airfoils. It is also desirable that these tools be coupled to other public domain tools for aeroacoustic modeling, and that the elastic deformations be accounted for in the analysis where needed. A collection of public domain and in-house tools have been developed to meet this need, with the individual models feeding each other the required data in popular text or spreadsheet format. Sample applications of the collective utility of these tools are presented with comparisons to test data.
