Abstract

This paper aims to describe the development of a scalable, durable, and lightweight linear actuator that extends multiple times its original length while resisting high stress and maintaining structural integrity. Existing solutions lack a combination of strength, flexibility, and compactness. MCLAVN is intended to replace certain actuator systems with a singular, multifunctional tool. The project aims to reduce cost per foot of extension, improve material durability, and enable the actuator to operate safely under maximum loading conditions using a nondestructive failure mechanism.
