Abstract

In-orbit services like refueling and debris removal have gained significant attention recently. This paper focuses specifically on assembly technologies. Instead of the widely studied assembly of ultra-large space structures that require multiple launches, this paper proposes a robotic self-assembly space telescope system that constructs the desired structure through on-orbit assembly with a single launch. We present the fundamental policies for the telescope's configuration and detailed aspects of its various constituent elements from a mechanical perspective, based on prototype development. Furthermore, we present the assembly procedure of the proposed system to demonstrate its feasibility.
