Nonlinear Substructuring of the Dynamic Substructures Round Robin Structure
Abstract
Component mode synthesis was first proposed and formulated for coupling of dynamic substructures by Dr. Roy Craig in 1968 [1]. Ever since, dynamic substructuring has been a popular field of research and has seen many great advances for both Frequency Based Substructuring (FBS) and Component Mode Synthesis (CMS) techniques [2]. As the field grew, additional adjacent fields became relevant such as Reduced-Order modeling, also pioneered by Craig [3]. Dr. Roy Craig has had a profound impact on the field of Structural Dynamics, Reduced-Order Modeling, and Dynamic Substructuring. His innovations in the field and passion for the discipline has inspired countless researchers including a continued dynamic substructuring technical division through the Society of Experimental Mechanics.
