Abstract

This study aims to enhance the luminescence intensity of Dye-Painted Anodized-Aluminum Pressure-Sensitive Paint (DP-AA-PSP) for application to unsteady hypersonic shock wave phenomena. Because such measurements require extremely short exposure times, insufficient luminescence remains a major limitation. DP-AA-PSP samples were fabricated using an automated spray-painting system, in which dye concentration and the number of coating passes were systematically varied. The results show that luminescence intensity increases markedly with both parameters, reaching up to three times that of conventional dipping-based AA-PSP. The expected luminescence change for a 1 kPa pressure variation also increased by up to 2.7 times. These findings demonstrate the strong potential of DP-AA-PSP for ultra-short-exposure pressure measurements.
