Abstract

This study aims to develop a conductive polymer temperature-sensitive paint (TSP). The TSP layer serves as both an optical temperature sensor and an electric heater. In the temperature calibration test, the conductive polymer TSP had a temperature sensitivity of -2.9%/K. Moreover, during the heating test, the surface temperature increased due to heat input into the conductive polymer, suggesting that the conductive polymer layer can serve as an inner thin electric heater. Finally, the developed conductive polymer TSP is used in a low-speed wind tunnel experiment to visualize the laminar-to-turbulent boundary layer transition on a NACA0012 airfoil. These results indicate the applicability of the proposed conductive polymer TSP to wind tunnel experiments.
