Abstract

Recent advances in phosphor coatings of intensifiers provide gated CCD camera access to near IR wavelengths for fluorescence imaging applications. Planar field measurements of reactive species in aerothermal testing offer significant acquisition time reduction while providing simultaneous information on axial and radial gradients near test material surfaces. This work describes progress in implementing an intensified-CCD camera for fluorescence-based measurements of oxygen atom populations and temperatures for plasma tests of materials in an inductively coupled plasma facility.
