Abstract

This study assesses the prediction of stability derivatives through a forced oscillation approach using RANS solutions, with comparisons to static and dynamic derivatives measured in a wind tunnel test for a representative large commercial airliner as part of the 2nd AIAA Stability and Control Prediction Workshop. Furthermore, it examines the aircraft’s lateral/directional and longitudinal modes, contrasting those derived from RANS-based predictions with modes based on wind tunnel data.
