Pressure Fluctuations and Reattachment Streaks on a Cone-Slice-Ramp Geometry at Mach 5
Abstract
This study investigates the shock-wave boundary-layer interaction (SBLI) on a slender cone-slice-ramp geometry at Mach 5 using surface pressure sensors and pressure-sensitive paint. Laminar/early transitional cases are studied where the flow separates at the cone-slice juntion and reattaches in the middle of the ramp. Several instabilities have been identified in the previous studies and in this work coherence and cross power spectral density from sensor data have been used to explore the phase relationships in frequencies of interest.
