Abstract

This work presents a blind prediction of the behaviour of adhesively bonded composite stiffeners, conducted as part of the Composite Blind Analysis Challenge organised by the Five Eyes Science and Technology (FVEY S&T). Participants were given experimental coupon data and tasked to predict the behaviour of adhesively bonded composite stiffeners. These models were used to simulate tests such as T-pull and side-bend, both with and without defects. This paper outlines a simulation methodology for these tests and shows that the ultimate load predictions were in good agreement with the experimental results.
