Development of a Simulation to Flight Workflow for Subscale Flight Testing of Experimental Control Laws
Abstract
The rapid development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) concepts has intensified the need for cost-effective, repeatable flight testing and control system development. Many candidate configurations, such as lift + cruise eVTOLs, feature unconventional aerodynamics and distributed propulsion that challenge traditional prototyping and validation. This paper presents a simulation-to-flight workflow from the Simulation to Flight Applied Research (S2FAR) Laboratory at Oklahoma State University for subscale Group 1-2 UAS (
