Abstract

This study proposes an algorithm for generating time-optimal guidance profiles for three-axis attitude maneuvers under spin-to-spin boundary conditions, considering spherical constraints on both angular velocity and angular acceleration. Time-optimal profiles for spin-to-spin rotations with angular velocity constraints have not been presented in the literature, and such problems are known to be difficult to solve reliably using conventional optimal control approaches. In this work, we formulate a fixed-final-time problem and propose a numerical approach that iteratively solves it using sequential convex programming (SCP) to obtain a time-optimal solution. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm effectively generates optimal profiles that satisfy all given constraints.
