Abstract

Distributed combustion has been widely investigated as a promising approach for achieving ultra-low emissions, enhanced thermal efficiency, and improved stability in high-intensity combustion systems. However, the nonlinear dynamical characteristics of distributed combustion remain unexplored. In this work, we present the investigation of recurrence behavior in distributed combustion using symbolic recurrence analysis. Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is used to explain the reduction of noise levels in the distributed combustion system. The recurrence properties of distributed combustion are compared with non-distributed combustion and a stochastic process (white noise) using quantification analysis of symbolic recurrence plot.
