Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the constitutional right to education was affected by the need for social distancing, which led to changes in teaching and learning dynamics and access to school. Faced with the inadequacy of the Administration, actors in the justice system, especially members of the Public Prosecutor's Office, were prompted to participate in debates to induce the implementation or enforcement of public policies through judicial and extrajudicial tools. This investigation aimed to understand the actions of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio Grande do Norte related to the right to education during the health crisis, using exploratory-descriptive research and documentary analysis. Extrajudiciality was highlighted as a means to promote the implementation of policies, preserving decision-making autonomy and stimulating interinstitutional dialogues for the contribution of other actors.
