Abstract

This White Paper contains details of the state-of-the-art knowledge on several issues related to the "NAMS Task Force Annals of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) • Article in Press • 4 METHODOLOGYThe National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), recommended this Task Force on Prevention of Neural Tube Defects in India.A 11-member diverse group of specialists comprised of Pediatric Surgeons, Epidemiologists, a Pediatric Geneticist, Medical Biostatistician, Nutritional Biochemist, Child Psychologist, as well as a Physician Scientist and Clinical Hematologist were assembled.
