Interview with Varvara Malkova
Abstract
Another "pravo and siliuchano" carpet, in which two weaving techniques are present - with a shuttle and the so-called "broken weaving", when pieces of woolen threads are placed to form an ornament. The strips are dominated by more saturated tones of red and green colors. A line of purple color is drawn through the central part of the strip. The ornament is presented with a whole bouquet of roses and poppy flowers, not a floral strip as in the other example. The round shape of the flowers allows us to assume that the carpet was woven in the late 1960s - 1970s. The condition of the carpet also speaks for this.
