Local ethnographic museum from "Ivan Vazov" gimnasium, village of Stoianovca
Abstract
A carpet known in the Bulgarian villages of Moldova as "tablava". This carpet, woven on a white background, is rare. The main pattern is a bouquet of multi-colored roses arranged in an octagon with a bright yellow color. Along the edge of the carpet is a woven canvas of so-called "teeth", then a floral strip on a white background, followed by another canvas of "teeth". In the space between them and the "tablava" are colorful geometric and cosmogonic patterns. Woven in the so-called "siliuchano" or picked “by fingers” technique, on a vertical loom. It has been distributed in Bulgarian villages since 1980. This carpet was woven by Shishkova Domnika, village of Stoianovca.
