Abstract

A carpet known as a "peacock carpet", woven from dyed woolen threads. Woven in the so-called "siliuchano" or picked “by fingers” technique. The basic warp of white threads is visible on the carpet, where there are places eaten by moths, but also on the white patterns on the narrow edges of the carpet. A rather unusual carpet, because it combines floral and avimorphic patterns. The carpet is surrounded by a pattern called "peacock eye". The flowers are already taking on a round, realistic shape, which indicates that this pattern appeared already in the 1970-1980s. The peacock looks quite realistic, woven in brown and gray-blue colors. Length about 1.2 m, width up to 1 m.
