Abstract

The patterns of the ornaments before weaving the carpet were drawn on white or squared paper. Colored pencils were used for the drawing, which corresponded to the colors used in weaving the carpet. Immediately after World War II, the women of the village of Stoianovca transferred the drawing onto newsprint, they did not have colored pencils, so they indicated in writing the color that had to be woven for each ornament element.
