Abstract

Close up shot of SRK engaged in the traditional wool shearing process at his house in Royee Village. The image captures the essence of this crucial preliminary step in wool production. SRK is seen using a special type of metallic scissors known as seril, an essential tool in the shearing process that is designed to efficiently and safely cut the wool from the sheep. The timing of the shearing is significant as it is conducted soon after the sheep are brought down from the high pastures, a practice rooted in the seasonal rhythms of pastoral life. This method ensures that the wool is harvested at an optimal time, contributing to the quality of shu.
