Abstract

This audio captures the intimate soundscape of BBN from Royee village as she meticulously teases wool, an essential step in traditional wool processing. The soft, rhythmic sounds of her fingers working through the fibers convey the careful precision and patience involved in transforming Dappi, the term for wool during the teasing phase into fine, aligned strands. These layered sounds evoke the stages of the wool journey, from raw fiber to spun yarn. As the process concludes, the wool, now called Pizhonu is ready for the next step: spinning. This soundscape immerses the listener in the rich textures and traditions of wool preparation in Royee village.
