GLZ, HAR and HJG demonstrating the warping process in Ghufti village
Abstract
The video shows the collaborative process of warping in Ghufti village. GLZ, HJG and HAR work together, aligning and stretching the warp threads across a grassy field. GLZ is seen tying knots to connect the new warp threads to the existing warp on a traditional handloom. The sakht and heddles are threaded with warp yarns spun earlier, secured, and prepared for weaving. This process, typically requiring three women, includes warping the yarn and dressing the loom, ensuring all threads are aligned and tensioned for weaving.
