Wrapping the reed’s nodes with brass wire
Abstract
After the parazvane and mouthpiece are made and the ney is tuned, the final step of the craft process is to wrap the reed’s node segments with brass wire. This is done to adorn the instrument. This video scene showcases Hüseyin Avni Özaydın performing this skilled task.
