Abstract

The INSIGHT Framework Workbook provides a structured process for planning, implementing, and evaluating one behaviour-related goal for children in Early Years and Early Primary settings. It guides educators through a six-stage cycle that begins with reflective assessment and planning and concludes with reflective data-based decision making.Across the cycle, educators document strengths, communication, sensory and contextual influences, and relational conditions that shape participation. They then co-design one capability-appropriate goal, strengthen universal design within the learning environment, plan targeted supports when required, monitor progress using low-impact evidence, and refine decisions over time. The Workbook is intentionally free of preset examples. This design protects child-specific planning and reduces the risk of generic or compliance-driven documentation. It supports educators to develop context-attuned plans that honour strengths, family voice, and diverse ways of participating in learning and play. The conceptual and empirical foundations informing this process are shared with the INSIGHT Framework Reflective Companion. A consolidated reference list is provided at the end of this Workbook to ensure transparency and alignment across both resources.
