Abstract

The Kinder Houston Area Survey is the longest-running survey of any major metropolitan area in the country, following the attitudes, experiences, and conditions of Houston-area residents since 1982. In 2025, the 44th annual Kinder Houston Area Survey focused on the area’s growth over the past 15 years, the factors that have drawn people to the region, what people like about life in Houston, and challenges residents see to Houston’s continued prosperity. Data were collected from nearly 10,000 residents for the 2025 Kinder Houston Area Survey, and at the same time an additional 1,500 members of the Asian American Community Study responded to the same survey. In the context of a fast-growing metro area with a fast-growing Asian population, this report leverages the data collected as part of the 44th annual Kinder Houston Area Survey to delve further into the experiences of Asian communities in Houston. By examining patterns across Asian ethnicities, this report serves to better understand the lives of residents who belong to some of the fastest-growing communities within one of the fastest-growing metros in the nation.
