Употребление терминов «водолей» и «рукомой» в науке и музейной практике

В статье представлен обзор терминов, относящихся к категории посуды бытового назначения – рукомоям. Кроме того, уделяется внимание особенностям их формы, применения и эволюции. Наиболее часто употребляемые названия – это водолей, рукомой, рукомойник. При поиске в базе данных Псковского музея-заповедника, а также в Госкаталоге отмечается употребление различных терминов к этой категории сосудов, что усложняет их поиск, персонификацию и инвентаризацию. В статье подробно рассматриваются термины «водолей» и «рукомой», разбирается их словарное значение, употребление в научной литературе, наименование в базе данных музея и в Госкаталоге. The article presents an overview of the terms belonging to the category of household utensils – wash-hand stand (rukomoi). In addition, attention is paid to the peculiarities of their form, use and evolution. The most frequently used names are vodolei, rukomoi, rukomoinik. Based on the search in the database of the Pskov Museum-Reserve, as well as in the State Catalogue, the use of different terms for this category of vessels is noted, which complicates their search, personification and inventory. In the article the terms “Vodolei” and “Rukomoi” (washing stand and wash-hand stand) are considered in detail: their dictionary meaning, use in scientific literature, names in the museum database and in the State Catalogue are examined.
