Abstract
This study investigated the surface rheological properties of aqueous chitosan solutions with concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% at a temperature of 298 K using the hanging drop oscillation method and a DSA-100 tensiometer. It was shown that with increasing chitosan concentration, the equilibrium surface tension decreases monotonically, confirming its surface-active nature. It was found that maximum surface elasticity is achieved at a concentration of 5%, indicating the formation of the most stable and elastic adsorption layer. At a concentration of 7.5%, the viscous component dominates, forming a dense, low-mobility surface layer with minimal oscillation amplitude.
