Abstract
This paper presents the results of a study examining the effects of various types of radiation on the properties of carbon nanomaterials. It demonstrates the importance of irradiation methods for studying material structure using Raman spectroscopy at JINR laboratories. Qualitative modeling and calculations are performed using the FLUKA program. The modification of carbon nanomaterials using radiation is considered. It is shown that one of the key features of the physical method of irradiating materials is its comparative environmental friendliness and the control of structural defects in the materials. To achieve modification and nanopore size, graphene and graphite materials were subjected to neutron and proton irradiation. This resulted in significant changes in both the structure, composition, and properties of the elements.
