Abstract
In this research, the authors studied the structure formation of cast billets using various alloys depending on metal solidification conditions, including vibration. Analysis of the structures of control samples (billets) confirmed that solidification under normal conditions occurs primarily through sequential crystallization, as evidenced by the width of their structural zones. External vibration exposure of solidifying alloys significantly alters their crystallization conditions, specifically, significantly refines the macrostructure of the blanks and changes the size of structural zones, indicating a volumetrically sequential crystallization process. It has been established that vibration improves the physical and mechanical properties of cast metal and significantly reduces their anisotropy across the blank cross section.
