SHEIKH MANSUR AND THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE

Выступив с исламскими лозунгами, шейх Мансур объединил представителей разных народов Кавказа в борьбе против экспансии Российской империи. На основе широкого круга источников автор рассматривает закономерность поражения этого восстания и его историческую значимость для национальной консолидации чеченцев и корректировки имперской политики. Coming up with Islamic slogans, Sheikh Mansur united representatives of different peoples of the Caucasus in the struggle against the expansion of the Russian Empire. On the basis of a wide range of sources, the author examines the regularity of the defeat of this uprising and its historical significance for the national consolidation of the Chechens and the adjustment of imperial policy.
