Abstract

The DAAD sub-project “Service Learning – Bühne frei!” (2025–2029, “Clear the stage!”) at the University of Potsdam brings together teacher training students from the University of Potsdam and the University of Education Winneba (Ghana) to combine reading research, theatre education, and inclusive learning. The project focuses on literary reading as cultural participation, the promotion of reading motivation, and the exploration of discrimination and exclusion in school contexts. Based on biographical experiences, students developed authentic theatrical scenes that were dramaturgically revised for educational use. The resulting 16 scenes support reading fluency and comprehension while fostering critical reflection, creativity, and awareness of discrimination through reading, writing, and performance.
