Abstract

This short collection of maps, which has been combined into an atlas, is my contribution to the #30daymapchallenge for 2025. The ‘official’ list of categories for the 2025 iteration of the map challenge is shown in the graphic below. There is also a github repository, for those who are so inclined, that has the R code for each day, the figure (map) that was produced and, where relevant, the data used to create the map or figure. The overarching idea, and one which I think is particularly important, is that in keeping a repository of files, code and data, this will help teach any potential future scholars and students about spatial techniques and methods in R. I have mainly used the libraries sf, ggplot2, ggOceanMaps, tmap, leaflet, and mapgl, mapboxapi, rayvista, this year. There are also one or two maps created using ESRI software
