Leaf transcriptome of four Solanum species treated by Phytophthora infestans

Four Solanum species, nonhost species S. melongena, S. aethiopicum and host species S. lycopersicum, S. tuberosum, were selected for studying the molecular mechanism between nonhost and host species against P. infestans. The leaves around the inoculation points were collected using a 10 mm diameter hole-punch after P. infestans inoculation 48 h. Three independent blank controls and five independent zoospore-inoculated replicates of each species were collected for for transcriptome profiling.
