Gut and Skin Metagenomics of 121 Species of Wild Freshwater Fish in the Southwest Region of China
Abstract
We collected a large cohort of wild freshwater fish from a total of 50 sampling sites in Southwest China. Through metagenomic sequencing, we obtained 903 metagenomes, including 529 intestinal metagenomes and 374 skin metagenomes. We analyzed their microbiota, newly assembled 705 new metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs), and screened out 3,271 potential viral sequences.
